Click Wish provides a free proxy service designed to obfuscate your browsers request headers and the address being requested. The headers received by the destination server become those of the proxy while the actual url being requested is augmented to avoid detection by local infrastructure. Although this does not equate to comprehensive anonymity, it can serve to bypass filters, and (typically) ensures the originating IP address is not recorded at the destination service. This does not apply to traffic that circumvents our proxy.
About web proxies and anonymous web surfing
A web proxy isolates the requesting client from the service provider by way of an intermediate node that facilitates throughput. In most cases, it simply replaces the clients request headers with it's own, such as those describing the originating clients IP address, and those describing the intermediary itself as a proxy. For all intents and purposes, it looks as though the request originates with the proxy rather than the client.
Isolation however does not equate to comprehensive anonymity. For that you should consider starting with TOR.
